John Dilworth

BARGELLI, Giuseppe Born 1886 Vicchio, died 1963 Florence Italy. Personal models in the Florentine tradition. Prolific maker, assisted by son Gastone (Born 1921). Initially self-taught; after 1918 was guided by Sderci. Established at 12 Via Saponai, Florence. Carried out restoration and repairs for the Conservatoire. Over 300 instruments credited to him; all members of the violin family, including double basses. Violin in Guadagnini style dated 1927 in Cherubini Collection, Florence.
