John Dilworth
BAUR, Adolf Born 1840, died 1873 Stuttgart Germany. Son and pupil of Martin Baur, below. Worked for J. B. Vuillaume. Took over his father’s shop in 1870 in association with Adolf Sprenger. After his own death only three years later, Sprenger worked independently from separate premises in Stuttgart. Workmanship in style of Vuillaume, often on Guarneri model, but lacking comparable varnish. Adolf Baur fecit / Stuttgart, anno 1868 AfB
