BOLANDER, John (I) Born 1861 Sweden, Worked 1882-1947 USA. Emigrated to the USA 1882, settling in Chicago as a musician. Worked as a part-time repairer in Denver, c.1896. Moved to Oakland, California 1911 to work for Kohler & Chase. Established there independently from c.1913, later employed by H. C. Hanson c.1915-1928. Finally moved to San Jose 1931, where he worked with his son John (II) until after 1947. Small production: violins and plucked instruments in equal quantity.
