BORLON (PORLON, BORBON), Peeter Worked circa. 1636-1653 Antwerp Belgium. Luthier to the Antwerp Court. six-string bass viol (violone) now strung as a three string double bass, made for the Cathedral and dated 1647, now preserved in the Vleeshuis Museum; primitive form with outward leaning soundholes, labelled: Peeter Borlon tot Antwerpen f 1647. Small violin with yellow varnish in the Brussels Musical Instruments Museum, labelled: Peeter Borbon, Anvers 1652
