John Dilworth

BOTHWELL, Alexander Born 1815 Rothienorman, died 1908 Aberdeen, Scotland UK. Amateur maker up until 1865. Later established at 6 Bridge Street, Aberdeen, later moving to 40 Netherkirkgate 1881 and 32 Netherkirkgate 1885, these last two having been previously the premises of John Young and Charles Cramond. Produced about 100 instruments with yellow or brown spirit varnish and imitation purfling, if any. Unlabelled. Some of decent quality, but generally rather mediocre. [Rattray]
