Son of Johann Braun, above. Active in Szeged until 1895, thereafter moving to Kolozsvar until 1918 when he returned to Szeged. BRAUN, Michael Born 1870 Nagyszentmiklós, died 1942 Szeged Hungary. Son of Johann Braun, above. Active in Szeged until 1895, thereafter moving to Kolozsvar until 1918 when he returned to Szeged. Retired to the suburb of Szentmihalytelek in 1929, continuing to make instruments but leaving the shop in the hands of his pupil Tibor Sagi. Stradivari and Guarneri models, well made, but with broad purfling in heavy edgework appearing a little clumsy. Delicate scroll. Rather lifeless varnish but good materials.
