He worked at the sign of the ” Black Lion,” in Cornhill. He copied Stainer and Amati, and turned out fairly good work as regards appearance, but the tone is hard and metallic.

A maker at the sign of the ” Black Lion,” Cornhill, London, in 1743. Made good copies of Nicola Amati, cut his scrolls well, but his varnish was hard.
