John Dilworth
BRUGÈRE, Charles Malakoff Born 1857, died 1895 Mirecourt France. Cousin of Charles Georges Brugère, above. Pupil of his father François ‘Malakoff’, below, adopting that name on his labels. Son-in-law of Telesphore Barbé. Worked for Hel in Lille. Established in Marseilles at 43 Rue Vacon before retiring to Mirecourt. Small output, although cellos and double basses most appreciated. Fine work, but varnish very variable, some of poor quality. Brugere Malakoff / avril. Luthier. 1892. / Rue Vacon, 43 Marseilles. No. 10.
