The wood is of good figure generally. The outline is defective ; the middle bouts are too long to be proportionate. Soundhole roughly worked. Varnish red, the quality of which is scarcely up to the Venetian standard.

Worked in Venice, 1680-1720. His instruments are not liked ; though the wood is carefully selected, the pattern is bad, the sound-holes roughly worked, and the red varnish of poor quality.

Er hatte meist nur ein schlechtes Modell, nahm aber doch gutes Holz; im
Übrigen ist seine Arbeit handwerksmässig, die F-Löcher hässlich in der Zeichnung
und roh geschnitten, der Lack von rother Farbe, aber sehr armselig.
Einzelne Geigen hat er nach Stradivari gebaut.
