Von einem Geigenmacher erhielt ich die folgende Abschrift eines Zettels,
der sich in einer gut gebauten, an Amati erinnernden Geige befunden haben
soll: »Jos. Centurio Tiburtinus f. in Padua 1780.« Darnach wäre anzunehmen,
dass er aus Tibur, d. i. Tivoli bei Rom, stammte. Es ist dies jedenfalls derselbe
Geigenmacher, der auch unter dem Namen »Tibontimus« genannt wird. Andere
lesen sogar »Conlusia Tibertimus«. Da ich keinen Originalzettel zu Gesicht bekommen
habe, muss ich alle Conjecturen vermeiden.
