CHANOT, Florentine Demoliens Born 1798, died 1858 Saint-Soflieu France. Wife and pupil of Georges Chanot (I), below. Mother to Adolphe and Georges (II). Exhibited in Paris 1827. A pamphlet by Cyprian Desmarais (1836) describes three violins between 1827 and 1829, one of which was presented to the eminent violinist J. B. Cartier.
