CHAROTTE-MILLOT, Joseph Born 1798, died 1849 Mirecourt France. Pupil of Aldric. Very characterful work; vaguely Guarnerian model with open ‘c’ bouts and small outwardly pointing corners. Lower holes of ‘f’ strongly oval in a lateral direction. Shaded red varnish on yellow ground. Branded ‘Charotte à Paris’.
