John Dilworth
CHERPITEL, Nicolas Émile Born 1841 Mirecourt, died 1893 Paris France. Pupil of Grandjon. Worked for Gand Brothers in Paris from 1859. Opened his own shop in 1870 at 364 rue St-Denis. Medals at Paris Exhibition 1878. Shop moved to 16, rue du Faubourg Poissonière 1884, continuing in business under his nephew C. Moinel until 1899. Fine Stradivari model with good red oil varnish.
