b. 1675, Messina ; d. 1699. A maker of lutes and theorbos. He was also a celebrated lute player; went to Rome and Naples for his musical education, then returned to Messina and tried to improve the construction of his favourite instrument. He made several theorbos and arch-lutes; one of the latter is dated 1698.

Archilaute war. Er war ein sogenanntes Wunderkind und erhielt seine Ausbildung
in Rom und Neapel. Es werden ihm auch einige Verbesserungen an
seinem Instrumente nachgerühmt; die von ihm gemachten Theorben und Archilauten
nennt Fétis, der eine solche von 1698 besass, die besten, die je gemacht
