CROWTHER, John Worked from 1760, died 1810 London UK. Began work for John Kennedy in Clare Market, Subsequently worked from his own shops at 2 Ely Court c.1778 and 22 Fetter Lane c.1792. Stradivari, Amati, and Stainer models, typical of the London trade in this period. Purfling with a dense yellow core used by many English makers. Materials generally of meagre quality.
