CUTHBERT, Robert Born before 1639, d. after 1714 London UK. Very sophisticated Amatisé-influenced early English work. Charming appearance with delicate scroll. Yellow-brown varnish of fine quality. Recorded as music publisher and instrument maker in Russell Street, Covent Garden. Made Freeman of the Goldsmiths Guild 1660. Instruments dated 1676, 1685, 1690 survive.
