John Dilworth
DOBRESOVITCH, Marco Born 1891 Dulcigno, Montenegro, Worked until c.1945 Italy & Egypt Moved to Cairo 1914. Pupil of Pollastri in Bologna c.1920. Established in Alexandria and later in Cairo, Egypt. Very good work, unsurprisingly reminiscent of Pollastri; good Stradivari form, well-executed low arch, very pleasing personality with light orange oil varnish. Made a quartet presented to King Farouk on his marriage in 1938.
