Er steht in seiner Arbeit Leeb und Schweitzer nahe und hat, wie der Letztere, allerlei chemische Versuche angestellt, um den »Cremoneser Lack zu ergründen«, und dabei wenigstens so viel herausgebracht, dass sein Lack für seine Zeit sehr gut genannt werden
kann. Seine Arbeit war sehr sauber, und besonders geschickt verstand er eingelegte Instrumente herzustellen. In Sch.’s Lexikon (1830) wird er den besten Geigenmachern zugezählt. Eine Geige, drei Violen, ein Violoncello und drei Bässe von ihm besitzt der Pressburger Domchor.
