John Dilworth
GALIMBERTI, Luigi Born 1888 Seveso, died 1957 Milan Italy. Pupil of Rottola and Antoniazzi. Worked for the Monzino company 1928-1930, subsequently. Established in Milan, initially at 7 Piazza Borromeo, later at 17 via Dolomiti. Medals awarded at Rome and Florence. Prolific maker of bowed instruments, including 30 double basses and many guitars. Antoniazzi and Classical models with golden-yellow varnish, both oil and spirit based.
