GALLI, Domenico Worked circa. 1684-1692 Parma Italy. Cellist, wood-carver, and poet. Author of Trattenimento musicale sopra il violoncello a solo: an early treatise on cello playing. Violin and cello in the d’Este collection in Modena, festooned with deep and flamboyant carving, are the only known examples of his work as a luthier.
