GARANI, Michele Angelo Born circa. 1665, d. after 1743 Bologna Italy. Very fine work in the Tononi style. Neat purfling close to the edge. Finely carved and concentric scroll with delicate chamfer. Arching low but full. Rich red-brown varnish over golden ground. Branded on upper back: ‘Garanus Bologna’ Michel Angelo Garani / in Bologna, 1687 A. Michael / Garanus / F. Bonon, 1724
