John Dilworth
GARANI, Nicolò 18th century, b. Bologna, Worked Naples Italy. Vannes gives the date as c.1700. Henley suggests 1745-1802. Both describe the work as similar to Gagliano, which might suggest the later date is more likely. Both give a roughly similar description: poor wood, high arch, clear yellow varnish. No confirmation available; work not recorded elsewhere.
