John Dilworth
GLASS, Christian Friedrich Worked circa. 1792-1823 Klingenthal Germany. Violin and bow maker. Hopf school. Rather square outline with outward pointing corners and purfling set very close to the edge. Medium arch with Stradivari-influenced soundholes. Scroll a little crude. Golden yellow varnish. Some instruments of lesser quality with painted purfling, and occasionally imitation figure painted onto the back beneath the varnish.
