GLÄSSL, Hermann (I) Born 1889 As (formerly Asch) Czech Republic. Apprenticed to his uncle Andreas Glässl in Hamburg 1903-1907. Also trained in fine cabinet making. Worked for Zust in Zurich 1909, for Vrint in London, and Wittmann in Vienna. Established in Munich 1912. Military service 1915-1918, resumed work in 1919. Credited with over 100 instruments on Stradivari, Guarneri, and personal models.
