John Dilworth
HAFF, Joseph Anton (II) Born circa. 1835 Pfronten, Ausburg, died 1902 Stuttgart Germany. Son of Joseph Anton Haff (I), above. Established in Munich 1894, then Senftenau, Bodensee, and finally Stuttgart, where he worked for Fridolin Hamma. Classical models, particularly Amati. Accurate and finely-finished work. Well designed and carved scrolls. Several medals won at exhibitions. Work made for Hamma inscribed within: ‘in München für die Firma Hamma & co gemacht’. Printed label: Hamma & Co.
