John Dilworth
JAIS, Andreas Born 1685 Mittenwald, died 1753 Tölz Germany. Pupil of Matthias Klotz. Active in Tölz from 1711. Highly arched Stainer model. Fine workmanship, sometimes with ornately carved heads and, occasionally, painted purfling. Thin red varnish of good quality. Also made lutes and viole d’amore. Andreas Jaiss Lautten- / macher in Tölz. Ao. 1739
