John Dilworth
KLEYNMAN, Cornelius Born 1626, died 1686 Amsterdam Netherlands Step-son and probable pupil of Franciscus Lupo, cittern maker. Contemporary of Hendrick Jacobs, and an equally sophisticated early follower of Amati, although his surviving work is rare. Closely set soundholes and extended corners, with slender whalebone purfling and elegant and concentric scroll. Fine golden-brown varnish of Italian quality.
