John Dilworth

LAVAZZA, Santino Born 1689, died 1726 Milan Italy. Son of Pietro Antonio Lavazza, above. Fine work of the Grancino school, showing some influence of Landolphi. More disciplined than contemporary work by the Testore family. Scroll very much in the Grancino style. Flat arching but very full to the edge, with broad purfling, Substantial golden-brown varnish.
