Er erlernte das Geigenmachen in seiner Vaterstadt und arbeitete eine Zeit lang bei Ch. F. Gand. Hierauf liess er sich in Nantes nieder. Seine Geigen sind gut; sie haben nur oft zu dicke Ränder und näseln etwas.
