LUPO, Francis (Fransz) Born 1582 London UK, died 1607 Amsterdam Netherlands. From a large family of musicians and instrument dealers active from the early 16th century. Several violinists of the name played in the English royal courts, as well as in Milan and Venice. Francis was known as a cittern and violin maker in Amsterdam. Teacher of his son Pieter, below, and his son-in-law Cornelius Kleynman.
