Nicholas (II) Worked circa. 1630. Son of Claude Médard (II), above. Recorded as ‘faconneur de violons’. Fine Amatisé work on a small model with clear but thin red varnish. Long corners with ends cut steeply, almost parallel to the centre-line of the instrument. Neat scroll, but not carefully finished. Many commercial instruments made by Thibouville-Lamy in Mirecourt also given this name in the 19th and 20th century. Manuscript label: Nicolas Medard.à Nancy, 1635 Nicolas Medard / Paris 1641
