John Dilworth
NEWTON, Isaac Worked from c.1775, died 1825 London UK. Possibly son of Thomas Newton, below. London trade work of the lower order. Stainer and Cremonese styles. Poor quality yellow varnish. Some instruments found with Betts label, signed by Newton internally but with superior red Betts varnish.
William Meredith Morris
He made mostly for the trade, particularly for Betts. Both workmanship and tone are of good average merit.
Cecie Stainer
Worked in London about 1775-1825. He made fairly good instruments, and used a dingy yellow varnish. Sometimes made violins and violoncellos for Betts, but these were always varnished by the latter.
selbst lackirt.
