John Dilworth
NICKL (NIGG, NIKEL, NIGGEL), Sebastian Born 1735 Füssen Germany, d. after 1788 St Petersburg Russia. Member of the same Füssen family as Sympertus Niggel. Thought to be a pupil of J. L. Leidolf and M. Petz whose work his own resembles. Active in Vienna c.1780-1787 and subsequently in St Petersburg c.1788. Rarely encountered maker.
