Worked for J. C. Lejeune in Paris 1813, and for Lété-Pillement in Turin from 1815. May also have been employed in Turin by Denis and Pressenda. Active in Genoa 1833, but returned to Turin where he continued to work for various employers. Known as a double bass maker. Only one original label of his i\u{2026} — John Dilworth

NOIRIEL, Léopold Born 1789 Mirecourt France. Worked for J. C. Lejeune in Paris 1813, and for Lété-Pillement in Turin from 1815. May also have been employed in Turin by Denis and Pressenda. Active in Genoa 1833, but returned to Turin where he continued to work for various employers. Known as a double bass maker. Only one original label of his is currently known, in a fine violin-shaped double bass, manuscript: Leopoldo Noiriel / fabricante di istrumenti / a corde armoniche / abita Casa Fontana n.13 / in Torino nel 1838 [Blot IV]
