Sein Vater soll aus Hohendorf bei Brambach eingewandert sein. Schüler von Joh. Christ. Übel in Klingenthal; kam in reiferen Jahren nach Markneukirchen,
wo er 1761 Bürger wurde. Er ist der Stammvater der heute noch blühenden Familie und galt als geschickter Geigenmacher, der bis in sein hohes Alter thätig war. Er starb im Alter von 81 Jahren 11 Monaten und 9 Tagen.
