Ein italienischer Lauten- und Saitenmacher, der in Urkunden auch Orinthio
Sanctia, auch de Sanctia genannt wird, wahrscheinlich ist aus dem letzteren
Namen dem Gehör nach das französisch klingende d’Essentier entstanden. Wie
er aber wirklich geheissen, kann man nicht feststellen. Er stand beim Herzog
von Lothringen in besonderer Gnade, und A. Jacquot theilt das folgende Document
mit: »A Orinthio d’Essentier, Italien, faiseur de luths et de cordes, centcinquante francs, que son altesse luy a donnes pour certaines bonnes considerations«.
