PADEWET, Johann (I) Worked circa. 1844 Basle Switzerland, died 1872 Karlsruhe Germany. Self-taught violin maker. Moved to Karlsruhe 1845 and established in Kaiserstrasse. Appointed luthier to the Duke of Baden. Awarded medals at exhibitions in Munich, Paris, and London. Stainer model. Good workmanship and varnish.
