Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Er war ursprünglich Kunsttischler und verlegte sich seit 1885 auf das
Geigenmachen. Er arbeitete sehr sauber nach Guarneri und Stradivari und erhielt
1890 in Edinburgh eine Bronce-Medaille. Er benutzte einen von Dr. Clark
hergestellten Öllack von rothgelber Farbe und ist vermuthlich identisch mit
dem J. Paterson in Glasgow, der um 1895 eine Violine mit Kinn- und Bruststütze
erfand, die vibrirende Theile des Instruments nicht berührt
William Meredith Morris+
A cabinet-maker by trade. He made copies of Guarnerius, and also very good ones of the ” Count Cessol ” Stradivari in the possession of Mr. W. Croall. He used Dr. Inglis Clark’s varnish. He obtained a bronze medal for a case of violins at the Edinburgh Exhibition, 1890.
