John Dilworth
POMMIER (POMMER), P. Worked circa. 1722 Lyons France. Thought to be of German origin. A fine viol in the Basle Museum. Violin cited by Vannes of large form; well proportioned with thin pale yellow varnish. Authentic work is rare. The name has been greatly abused by commercial dealers and manufacturers.
