REITER, Johann Born 1879, d. after 1933 Mittenwald Germany. Violin and bow maker. Son, pupil, and successor of Johann Baptist Reiter, below. Established in Oberer Markt, Mittenwald. Fine work in similar style to his father and J. Vauchel. Violins, violas, and cellos on several models. Also made plucked instruments and viols, all with distinction. Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Sohn, Schüler und seit 1899 Nachfolger von J. B. Reiter. Er ist gegenwärtig fast der einzige selbstständig arbeitende Geigenmacher in Mittenwald, da alle übrigen für die beiden grossen Fabriken thätig sind. Seine Arbeit ist tadellos, die von seinem Vater und Vauchel gesammelten Modelle und Zeichnungen versteht er gut zu benutzen, und auch seine Bögen verdienen Lob. Er bereitet sich seinen Lack selbst und verwendet ausser seinem Zettel manchmal Streichinstrumentenmacher auch eine Brandmarke:
