Charles RESUCHE (1858-1913) was a French luthier born in Mirecourt, a pupil of Didion and Gand and Bernardel. He established a workshop in Lyon in partnership with Justin Diter before moving to Bordeaux, where he retired in 1913. He was known for making fine copies of classical Cremonese instruments, particularly Stradivarius, Guarnerius, and Amati models, using high-quality, appropriately coloured oil varnish.

Charles RESUCHE (1858-1913) was born in Mirecourt in 1858 and died after 1913 in Bordeaux, France, or retired in 1913. He was a pupil of Didion and later worked with Gand and Bernardel in Paris. In 1890, he established a workshop in Lyon in the passage de l'Arque in partnership with Justin Diter. He later moved to rue de l'Hôtel de Ville. The partnership with Diter dissolved after 1897, with Diter moving to Marseille. RESUCHE then moved to Bordeaux in 1897, where he retired in 1913. Sources contain conflicting information regarding his establishment in Bordeaux; some state he took over F. Meynieu's firm in 1899, while others indicate he was attached to the Maison Meynieu from 1899 to 1913.

Schüler von Didion und später von Gand & Bernardel. Im Jahre 1890 begründete er mit Justin Diter zusammen eine Werkstatt in Lyon in der Passage de l’Argue. später wohnte er in der Rue de l’Hôtel de ville 69. Die beiden Genossen trennten sich nach 1897 wieder; Diter ging nach Marseille und Résuche nach Bordeaux, wo er 1899 F. Meynieu’s Firma übernahm. Er kommt in seiner Arbeit seinen Lehrern sehr nahe und wird von Kennern geschätzt. Er arbeitet hauptsächlich nach Stradivari, Guarneri und Amati und gebraucht einen hübschen Öllack.

Born at Mirecourt in 1858. Pupil of Gand and Bernardel. Was at first established at Lyons, then attached to the Maison Meynieu at Bordeaux from 1899 to 1913, in which year he retired. Has signed a number of instruments. Red varnish. Well made Stradivarius, Guarnerius and Amati models.
