Es kommen nur wenige Arbeiten mit seinem Namen vor, und diese sind nicht bemerkenswerth. Im Jahre 1761 war er schon verheirathet. Er darf als der Stammvater der jetzt noch blühenden Familie betrachtet werden. Noch gegenwärtig arbeiten 10—12 Geigenmacher Namens Rieger in den grossen Mittenwalder Fabriken.
