A maker in Paris about 1825 – 53. He made a few violins, which are very beautiful copies of Guarneri; but he was chiefly noted for his cleverness in repairing old instruments, and his extraordinary knowledge of the work of old Italian makers.

Made several copies of Guarneri, many of which are excellent. He was also a clever restorer of old instruments, and had a critical eye for the works of the old Italian masters, in which he dealt to some extent.

Tüchtiger Reparateur und feiner, anerkannter Kenner, der einen ausgedehnten Handel mit italienischen Instrumenten trieb. Einige wenige Geigen soll er jedoch selbst nach dem Guarneri-Modell gemacht haben, die als gut gelungen bezeichnet werden dürfen.

Paris circa 1836. An excellent workman who has made some good copies of the Italian masters, Guarnerius, among others. He has signed but few instruments.
