Carl Gottlob Born 1789, died 1876. Son of Johann Georg Schönfelder (II), below. Member of the violin makers guild from 1811. In seinen besten Jahren hat er recht gute Geigen gemacht, die eine gewisse Eigenart besassen. Er hatte ein ziemlich flaches Modell; die Wölbung von Decke und Boden beginnt sofort nach der Hohlkehle am Rand und wird gegen die Mitte zu flach. Die F-Löcher stehen etwas gerade; die Schnecke ist nach Amati geschnitten. Er war auch als Lehrmeister beliebt, und einer seiner Schüler ist Joh. Gottl. Heberlein.
