Geboren in Mirecourt, kam er als Gehilfe zu seinem Landsmanne Maucotel nach London und machte sich später dort selbstständig. Er wohnte King Street, Soho. In Aachen befindet sich von ihm eine grosse schöne Viola, die gut nach Amati copirt ist. Sein Zettel beweist, dass er das Englische nicht tadellos schreiben konnte.
