THIR Antal (Anton) (I) Born circa. 1729 Steingaden Germany, d.c.1796 Bratislava Slovakia Worked initially in Vienna. Established in Bratislava (Pressburg) before 1750. Granted citizenship 1775. High-arched Stainer model. Finely executed workmanship. Transparent golden-red varnish, although early work has the characteristic Viennese dark brown finish.
