Biographies

John Dilworth

THOMASSIN, Louis Joseph Born 1856 Mirecourt, d. after 1904 Paris France. Bow maker. Pupil of C. Bazin. Later worked in Paris for Voirin 1872. Continued to work for Voirin’s widow after his death 1885, but established independently on the Boulevard Rochechouart 1891, later moving to 143 Boulevard Menilmontant. Supplied work to N. Audinot, P. Blanchard, Chanot, Gand, and H. C. Sylvestre. Fine work, based very closely in the Voirin style. Branded: L. THOMASSIN À PARIS [Millant/Raffin]
