THUMHARDT, Johann Georg Worked circa. 1740-1796 Amberg Germany. Presumed son of Johann Thumhardt, above. Appointed luthier to the court of Amberg. Prolific and among the better makers of his family. Long form and arching well-achieved, but detailing and finish inconsistent. Fine materials and red-brown varnish. Also made plucked instruments of various types.
