Mitte der sechziger Jahre liess er sich in Altötting nieder und hat dort hauptsächlich Zithern, aber nur wenige Geigen gemacht. Da er keine ausreichende Beschäftigung fand, kehrte er in seinen Geburtsort zurück und arbeitet meist für die dortigen grossen Händler.
