John Dilworth

TRUCCO, Girolamo Worked circa. 1840 Savona, Genoa Italy Possibly a pupil of Rastelli. Very undisciplined work. Loose, asymmetrical outline with deeply incurving ‘c’ bouts. Medium to low arch, broad edge with prominent corners, and long low-set and sloping soundholes. Neatly turned scroll with large eye. Red-brown varnish of good quality but thin textured. Rather poor materials, probably of local origin. Also maker of guitars and harps. Girolamo Trucco / Fabbricante di Chitarre, Arpe e Violini / in Savona. 1840
